Fall Colors Tour 9! November 13th, 2010

The leaves are falling and it's time for the Northwest's longest running SVX event, the Fall Colors Tour!

This marks the 9th year for the tour, and we are going "Back to the Beginning"! We're dusting off the original tour route that started it all, and giving some of our newer participants the chance to experience it. But we are keeping it fresh for the tour veterans too, by integrating some alternate routes and roads we learned through trial and error on subsequent tours.

The classic tour route starts out in historic Snohomish, WA, right on the riverfront. Like the first tour, we will meet in front of the Java Inn, although since then it has moved across the street into the front of the Todo Mexican Restaurant.

After everyone gets their morning refreshment fix, we will head out through the touristy downtown area, then break out into the farmlands. From there the journey takes us all over Snohomish County, through many small towns and winding country backroads. There will be plenty of scenic stops for breaks along the way, and one lunch stop in the middle where we can all eat together and socialize.

The tour ends around dusk in Monroe, WA, just a few miles down the road from the start. For those wishing to come from out of the area to join in the fun, either Snohomish or Monroe offer several lodging options and a Fri/Sat stay in either location would give you easy access to both the start and end points.

Mark your calendars and plan on attending this great annual event - you won't be disappointed!

Who: Anyone driving a SVX is welcome to join - especially those that have never attended an event before! We may also allow a few non-SVX cars to participate in special circumstances (example, you own a SVX but it can't be driven that day).

What: A fully organized scenic driving tour event. The organizers have put together several dozen driving events for the local SVX community over the last 10 years. Full triple-checked turn-by-turn driving directions provided, driver's meeting, and a general overall professional feel to the event. The total driving route clocks in at about 100 miles, with the entire event lasting around 6 hours.

Where: Snohomish County, WA.
Starting Point: Java Inn Coffee Roasters (Inside Todo Mexican Restaurant)
1101 1st St., Snohomish, WA 98290
Ending Point: Fred Meyer
18805 State Route 2, Monroe, WA 98272

When: Saturday, November 13th, 2010
Meet: 9:30am (Driver's Meeting will be at 10:00am)
End: 5:00pm

Other:
- Several gas stations are a block to the north of the start in downtown Snohomish - Please fill up before arriving as a courtesy to your fellow drivers.
- Be prepared with clothes for any weather (we do this rain or shine and you'd hate to have to sit in your car at a scenic stop because you don't have a coat).
- Bring snacks/beverages (we start at a great coffee/drink place and have a planned lunch in the middle, but some people find they get hungry before then).
- Be flexible. We make every effort to stay as close to our schedule as possible, but sometimes unforeseen circumstances (not the least of which is people are having such a good time hanging out at a stop that they don't get back to their cars on schedule! ) will put us behind. Don't schedule something for an hour after our planned end time and then worry that you won't make it if we start to lag behind schedule. Besides, we'd love to share dinner together with anyone willing to stick around!
- Don't forget your camera!
- Above all, HAVE FUN!

We look forward to seeing a TON of SVXes again this year!
