Seperating lens from tail lamp housing?
This is specifically for Doug or Lwin:
I need to seperate the lens from my center finish lamp (the one that says svx in it) The plastic seems more delicate than that of the headlamps, and I'm afriad the heatgun trick would melt the plastic. How do you guys remove the lens? Mike |

Hey Mike, I've had all of mine off and the heat gun works just be careful. Start at one edge and slowly work your way to the opposite, don't try to get the whole thing in one shot it cools to fast Don't use a screwdriver to pry the clips it will distort the plastic use something wider to distribute the seperation more evenly. A putty knife or thin pieces of plastic "like" credit cards to keep the clips from re-clipping works well.
P.S. try not to make a mess of the sealant unless you plan on removing all of the old stuff. Check my locker for pics of the light.

Mike,
Follow the instructions those guys gave you. I recommand 2 people (4 hands too). Oh and don't get the heat gun too close to the black plastic. It'll melt and it will not reseal well. Apart from that, good luck and enjoy. Lwin If I have an oven big enough, it will do fine. Front ones melt at the higher temp too.
