How much is this worth
Hey, I've been shopping for an SVX that has a bad engine and/or tranny so that I can swap in parts from my own hail-destroyed love. I found this '92 Pearlie in Dallas TX.
1992 Subaru SVX Once the owner finally responded saying that he has sold the radiator but the car is still available. Since it has no radiator and needs engine and tranny work it will definitely need to be towed or shipped to New Mexico. I may be in his neighborhood in a couple of weeks and I was wondering how much I should offer for it, assuming it still has everything else I want. So, considering I would pay for shipping, what do you guys think it's worth?

My concern, without seeing the car like you're planning, would be this. If the car has 211,000 miles on it and needs engine and tranny work, what else does it need? In my experience cars are cared for in a consistent manner.
It sounds like you're going through more trouble than it's really worth. I would keep the old car for parts and look for another nice one that's complete and driveable. If you can't afford to right now, I can relate, but in my opinion you're just asking for more trouble.

I would agree with Mr. Pockets.

But I have my 123K mile SVX that mechanically has no problems. I have the engine, tranny and radiator to swap as well as any other parts it may need. Basically I just want a car with a good body.
I did some searching and it looks like shipping will be about $700 and the radiator was worth $350. I think I will start out offering him like $700 or something.

Start Lower
Just a suggestion, but I would start lower than $700. The thing is missing parts AND doesn't run. I wouldn't spend more than $1000 shipped to you. Try and look for something closer, or at least something that can drive. Doesn't have to drive great, but at least drives.
No offense, but why keep the SVX? There are a lot of cars out there to buy for very little money. Is it really worth the hassle? You could always get another SVX in the future.

I will start lower than $700, and it may be possible to tow it instead.

Considering all you need is a body go for it but find somebody willing to loan/rent thier trailer to you also since not running get it down to like 400.

so the guy offered it for like 1000 and wasn't going to budge
I think I'll save up for a while to get a better car. Think of me if you see a good deal though! I'm just so sick of this POS Nissan!
