yes I did. I'm probably going to go with leaving the open deck and taking 1 or 2 thousands off the outer parts of the deck to increase the pressure on the head gasket around the cyllinders.

Mike did you get my piston payment OK?

Great. Thanks. Who are you sourcing the pistons from?

Have you ever considered o-ringing?

Dang. Good point. I thought these would be stock specs. 97 is pretty close though.

Pistons to Rods

Tom/Mike:

Do you have any idea how we secure the piston rod pins? Are we expected to use the stock circlips or are we getting teflon buttons. What type of assembly procedure are you planning?

Thanks

ya that's an easy hone..between 3 and 4 thousands...the standard step up when honing a 96.9 bore.

Chuck, as far as I know we are getting the pistons with rings, pins, and they SHOULD utylize the same circlip design

Gaskets

Check this out. I may do this instead of the copper gaskets. I have not heard back from them since I sent the gasket picture. Only problem is horsepowerfreaks are difficult to deal with.

Chuck, the pistons are being specifically machined to use the factory circlips. I don't know if you've taken an engine apart yet or not but it's impossible to install the pistons with any other circlip.

I can't say that I know really.

Asside from not knowing if they are better or not I would ask cometic a bit more. .065" compressed or uncompressed? Why a 98mm bore? I know I measured my used gasket bore to be 98.75. Might want to measure the diameter of the chamfer on your cyllinders and compare to the gasket bore.
