How much work is it to disassemble the case to where you can send it out to be coated?

I'm assuming you took apart your old alternator and sent the case out, while meanwhile the new 160A one was on it's way. Then you took the casing off the 160A and put the newly coated casings from your old alternator on the 160A? And vice versa?
