You lucky......

I (and many others) drove Huck's project at the meet last weekend. You are really in for a treat on your first ride....

Thanks for bringing your car up for the meet Huck.

Now...if I can just round up enough cash for a second SVX, I'll get my own conversion rolling...

No Problem, The good coments, and rave reviews of my 5-Speed, made me have to loosen my hat
I expected more people to ask for a ride, I guess, maybe they were afraid to ask, but those that did ride made me feel like all the work was worth it.

Now if only I had one as nice as John's to stick a 5-speed in......

In my short time that I showed up, I was looking for you so that I can go for a ride. I kept missing you. I wanted to know how it feels since I want a 5 speed in my 94 if she dies

What ever you do, don't order a clutch from subaruparts.com. I ordered the ACT from them on June 27th and still have not recieved, and hopefully never will since I bought one off of ebay. But they are horrible to deal with, by the time you pay shipping charges, you really haven't saved any money. That is if you have a parts account at a local dealer. BTW the flywheel bolts are only $.95 each.
Try your best to find a trans crossmember from an impreza and set up a mount similar to Huck369's. For a pioneer, I think he did a very good job. I tried to set up a mount similar to alex_umn's but it interfered with the exhaust so severely I decided against it.

I'm just replying to lessen Huck's load, not too take any credit or glory away from him. The crossmember to search for is from a 95 impreza AWD with MT. it is just a single piece straight bar not unlike the one in the SVX.
The clutch I found on ebay was without a doubt a one time(someone is looking out for me) event and it cost me $425 shipped to my door. I just searched Subaru +clutch. If you want a better idea of what the crossmember looks like, check out Huck369's locker.

D'oh!!!!!!

Huck,

I didn't know you were letting people drive your car. I figured you didn't want us to burn out your clutch or something. Sorry I missed that.

Although they have good clutches, its ACT who blows at supplying
the parts, its not subaruparts.coms fault, trust me. I deal with ACT all the time, and Centerforce. ACT takes their sweet time getting us parts we need.

I got a deal for anyone

wanting to drive a 5 spd car, you can buy mine and if drive
it everyday !! open the door and the first thing youll smell is the all new leather seats, slide down in the cockpit that hugs your body, take ahold of the thicker leather wrapped steering wheel and shifter knob surrounded by the leather boot, turn the key and experience the Porsche like growl outta the whole new Magnaflow exhaust system as you go thru the gears, feel the ACT stage II clutch kit, monitor the revs thru the white faced indiglo gauges, marvel at the billet style aluminum dash resembling something like that outta a jetfighter EVERYDAY , Sunroof flipped up at a 5 degree angle, and the A/C surrounds you along with your favorite tunes, and experience 250hp, 20+ mpg of AWD you cant get with any other car well under 10K. You end up worshipping this car

Move over SVX, make way for Nissan Skyline AWD tt, is all I can say for the change........I get the question alot of people want to know why I would sell the 5 spd car.

Maybe next time.

Nice car, shame that the wheel is on the wrong side. How much for a RHD conversion?
