OT- Amphicar

Since this past weekend there has been an Amphicar stuck in the middle of the Delaware River between New Hope PA and Lambertville NJ. This is about 30 miles north of Phila. The plight of this little aqua colored car has been on the local TV news every night. Well, I'm pleased to report that they finally got it on dry land yesterday. Thanks to all the volunteers who saved this rare and unique auto.

What Kind of Amphicar was it??

Hey Larry! I saw some blurp about it on the news here. What kind of Amphicar is it? Is it one of the Triumph powered models? Last I had heard there was only about 15 of those still sea worthy in the world. If so I hope they didn't destroy the poor guy getting him out. I just have visions of a drunken barge operator doing his part to kill a little piece of history.

Could it be that the driver got stuck, because he stopped to get a drink at the sand bah?

Ron.

Amphibian option

<Or he could have had a dance and a drink at the rum bah! >

As the little car slowly made its way across the bay, it began to make a loud humming sound from beneath the bonnet. After a few minutes the driver (captain) became increasingly alarmed by this continuous noise, and decided to bring this car/ship enterprise to a safe conclusion by running up on a sand bar, or "bah" as the locals call them.

Unfortunately, even safely aground with the engine off, the humming continued. It could truly be said that the driver was...

...bah hum bugged. Don

Don, even by my self-surfing standards, that was shorely a stretch.

Sinking feeling...

<Don, even by my self-surfing standards, that was shorely a stretch>

Don: "I had a bad week."

Ron: "So? Just because you had a bad week, why should I suffer?"
