Re: Closing Machine Shop - everything must go!

While inventorying the leftovers on the "manual" machining half of the shop today, I came across some stuff that I considered to be unusual. i.e., they would be valuable to someone who had a specific use for them. We have had a guy in here hauling out scrap metal & remnants for the past week or so. If this miscellaneous stuff doesn't go to someone who can use it, it WILL go for scrap! I am listing this here in case someone has some use for this stuff. If there's anything you want, LET ME KNOW QUICKLY and I will put it aside before the scrap guy comes back in here and starts hauling stuff away again.

Here are the items:

(1) 1/2" X approx. 6' long brass rod
(2) 7/16" square steel bars approx. 6' long (might be key stock?)
(1) 3/8" X 1/4" bar approx 6' long (again, might be key stock?)
(2) 8" W X 2-1/4" D U-channels approx. 12-15' long
(2) 3" angle, stainless, approx 10-12' long
(1) 1-7/8" OD 6061 (Aluminum) Schedule 40 pipe approx. 12' long
(1) 6" X 4" Angle (steel) approx 4-5' long
(3) 3/8" OD (1/4" ID) stainless tubing approx. 6-7' long + assorted smaller pieces
(6) 1/4" OD stainless tubing approx. 6-7' long + assorted smaller pieces

I know these are weird things to have laying around, but this forum has a large membership with varied "hobbies".

PM me if you need more info on any of the items or if you want me to put something aside for you. I can bring the stuff home and hold it until somebody can pick it up. (That is , unless Tom finds some use for it. )

Di,
Do you know if they found the attachments Sean was interested in?

Sorry, my boss is being completely uncooperative, leaving me in the middle, as usual. He refuses to take the time to name a price on anything in the shop, making it impossible for me to sell anything. (Even though he is the one that told me to start selling things off.) I don't know if he has even LOOKED to see if we have what Sean was asking about. I'll ask him today, IF he comes in.

Di,
Thanks! Sorry that you find yourself in the middle of all this

Well, he DID come in today, and I DID ask him if he had looked yet, and he said "No." That's it, end of story. Like everything else that has to be taken care of by him and only him.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Re: Closing Machine Shop - everything must go!

In case no one has seen it, this item is listed on eBay:

Sweeney 1200 ft/lb Torque Multiplier, model 391A, including case.

It looks brand new, and the price is a STEAL!

Anybody need one?

Here's the link to the listing, if anybody is interested.

I say we just pull a big old U-Haul up in the middle of the night and be done with it
