Estimate on how much to do a manual swap?

Hello all. I am interested in swapping a manual into my 94 awd svx. Just wondering what is all needed and some price ranges for those of you who have done this. Also wondering which trans works the best? Thanks in advance!

A quick search will give you a ton of info on the subject, but off the top of my head, the price can range widely depending on how you go about the swap. What trans, hydraulic/cable clutch, new/used part...If you do the work or have someone do it for you...

I agree with the pilot. Costs all depend on what transmission you chose.

cable operated 5mt's are good for daily driving but won't last forever

Hydro 5mt's (push style aka non turbo) are in the same boat as the cables

wrx 5mt's are stronger and are a better match for the car all around. They last longer and can take a decent amount of abuse as long as you don't drive like I do

6mt's are really kinda overkill unless you want to make loads of power or have a RWD complex. They are heavy, strong and EXPENSIVE They are good at holding great amounts of torque and abuse.

The costs increase as you make your way down the list but so does durability.

I would be looking at a daily driver that can hold up to a couple small mods such as intake/exhaust. This would basically be my winter car. I'll do some more searching but wondering which cable operated trans will fit or bolt up the best? Thanks for the replies!

I would be fine with a 5 spd, looking for the cheapest, not the best.
