Strikes me as about $2000 too much. Find another shop.

everywhere else says they'd have to get the parts from subaru anyway.... (quoted 1600 in just parts)
so i don't know what to do... just seems ridiculous |

I would check out some stuff first. Do you really need a power steering pump? You may only need a $1.00 O-Ring for that. That sure seems like more than I would think.

Why do you need a p/s pump? Leak, no assist, xx?
For $2795 I'll eat the sales tax. Good grief, that is a lot of money! Plus there is a certain amount of overlap time as the p/s pump is set to one side when the t-belt is changed. Ever consider driving to Louisville for maintenance? You could buy your parts and a pair of motor mounts for mine and call it even. (should I have bartered for a new set of Konis?)

Why replace the reservoir? That part doesn't ever break unless you do it on purpose. As for the PS pump, unless the body or cartridge assembly has been damaged, I'd opt to rebuild it. The normal wearable parts only cost $50 or less. The timing belt and water pump only cost about $150 and isn't hard to do for someone with a little mechanical ability.
