Maintenance lubrication question

I'm sure the threads are on this website somewhere, but could anyone tell me what types of fluids can be used in the following areas: Power steering, Brake, Transmission

I think the transmission uses Dextron II, but not sure they sell that near me.....Can Dextron III be used?........If so what brand?......If not, then what?...(I'm not looking for synthetics at this point)

Power steering - Can the ATF be used above??

Brakes.....Dot 3 or 4......not even sure what that means, but any good non-synthetic brands out there?

Transmission - Yes, Dexron Mercon III is OK.
Power Steering - Same as Transmission
Brake Fluid - DOT 3 or 4 works, it will say on the bottle. I personally use Valvoline Synthetic DOT 4 equivalent.

Some people have also used Dot 5.1 for their brakes. 5.0 was not compatible with ABS systems.

Thanks for the advice..........I purchased some Dot 3 brake fluid....good for vehicles with ABS

ATF I went with Dextron III/Mercon...I'll use that for the Power steering fluid as well.
