Proud Owner ?

According to the grape vine a certain down under person is now a fully fledged member after masquerading for yonks but this is home and until we have confirmation on site I am not convinced.

We are all standing by down here waiting to say "great news" when it becomes official on this site. Meantime it is just a rumour !

I have neglected to post here!! Yes, the Camry SVX-chase car remains but now shares a driveway with an SVX!!

Now, people in other SVX's may pull over when they see an SVX chasing them rather than a lunatic hanging out the window of a Camry, waving 'join us' flyers in one hand, a camera in the other and steering with his feet.....his poor girlfriend crouched in the passenger seat, dying of shame and embarrassment.

Yes, a 3.3litre flat six will outrun the Camry....but now I have a something that can keep up!!! *evil grin*

Joe,

Now long, standing m***** and column inches could receive smutty comment elsewhere but as James is moderator here and of tender age I say nout.

I agree the very large " congrats." is very much in keeping with the occasion.

James, keep us posted on how she is going. Well we trust and if not we will put her right mate.

Trevor.

Trevor, I'm glad you did not take me up wrong on that, I am now a moderator myself and have vowed to cut the tripes out of any smutty posts or double entendres.

James seems to have obtained a nice motor, I am well pleased for him and Cassie.

BTW, I mentioned on the European forum, and I feel it has relevance for every region. I would like anyone who has to replace a wear & tear part, like filters, brakepads etc, or brake discs etc, to note what the part number was [& manufacturer] the cost and where purchased.

If this information is kept in a central location or file, maybe a spreadsheet type, any members looking for bits or service items can go direct to this information source, get part numbers, compare prices with local and so on.

What do you think??

Joe

Parts File

Yes Joe a great idea, specially if a list of alternative equivelents was included e.g. Nissan parts as in time stocks will dry up on Subaru stockists shelves and this info. could be vital. Over the years I have built specials and modified and maintained non popular makes and know full well the duplication which exists amongst manufacturers. Just because the OEM says no can do does not mean not available.

There should be more attention paid to this sort of thing in my view ahead of babble.

Regards, Trevor.

So right

You are so right Trevor.

As Elvis puts it, "A little less conversation, and a little more action please"

Let's get down to it, and get the ball rolling. I say a spreadsheet would be best.

Suggestions please as to headings for the columns.

Joe

PS Paddles, if you are reading this, any chance of getting a hold of a copy of the OEM parts manual or microfiche from Japanese owners?

We really only need a selection of parts numbers. General wear & tear items, plus some known breakables, you know the ones we mean, [rear wheel bearings? driver's door electric switch? etc]
