I wish the civic never existed. It's given Honda a bad name. Not all Hondas "suck." For instance the late model Preludes. They have comparable power to our cars and handle very nicely. I also had an 86 accord that I abused the crap out of. I never had serious problems with it. Even with 150+ K on the clock I was able to maintain speeds well in excess of 100 mph for long periods of time without straining the car. I had 202k on it when finally upgrading to the SVX. It still ran as good as the day I bought it.

Yea, i own a late model prelude and it handles pretty good and is very reliable. The SVX is much stronger though probably because of more torque.

I do agree. Economy cars they are, but models that I've driven seem to give the impression of strong stability at fast speeds and the feeling that your power isn't being maxed out. My previous 86 accord may have had a 0-60 rating of 9.8 seconds and gotton 30 miles per gallon, but could do 115 MPH without breaking a sweat. Don't get me wrong though, I enjoy a good laugh at ricer civc or accord. I probably won't buy another Honda either.
