What exactly is the real world info?

I have read and heard all kinds of information on how 100 lbs lost can give 1-2% better mpg, 1/10 second better 1/4mi times, etc...

I forgot about what every 10hp adds.... anyway... just wanted to see if there was some hard core evidence to support these claims.

The biggest loser...

You should have watched that show.

If you'd seen it throughout the season, there's proof that it works on humans. I'm pretty certain that it works the same with cars. If you have the same amount of horsepower carrying less weight, then it stands to reason that the weight can be moved easier, and therefore faster.

Exact times? Not sure.

I'd say it's probably rather easy to lose 100 lbs.

A 14.2 second 1/4 mile time with a 2800lbs stock 150k engine with 20w50 soup for oil and 4.11 trannied SVX should just about do it for ya right. Check out the $2006 GRM Challenge results and you'll have your evidence.

its not a fixed ratio. As you go faster, you need to lose more weight or make more power to gain the same reduction in your times
