Ok, I've looked but can't find what I want.
Is there an obvious way to tell if a rear diff is Limited Slip or not? Without taking it apart? I would like to know before I tear apart either of my Outback diffs to get the gears for my SVX one.

The SVX diff or the Outback Diff? The SVX diff is an LSD, they all were unless someone screwed with it.
For the OB one, it's most likely open (non LSD). Spin one of the axles, if the other one spins in the same direction (the same fwd or reverse, not cw/ccw) then it's an LSD. If the axles are out, look through the axle hole into the diff, if you can see straight through it's a LSD, if there is a pin in the middle, it's open. Here are some pictures from SVXfiles locker...
