Idaho on way to Reno

As with thndrmtn92svx, I would like to know how many people plan on swinging through Idaho on their way to Reno. I guess I just want to be a part of a huge "SVXavan".

So if you guys would like to let me know if you are going to come through Idaho, that would be cool. If not, I'll see ya'll in Reno.

Okay, you were right on that date.

I'll be staying in Boise on Monday night (and getting up really ******** early to visit Craters of the moon), Salt Lake City on Tues, Moab on Wed (visiting Arches), Elko on Thurs. On the way back I'm going up the Oregon coast. My car is so excited!

Hmm, took a bit of thought to work out which days of the week that would be.

Sound like lucky great fun to Kimosabe. I can't wait for June. That Monday night(assuming it is Monday the 14th) we'll try to plan on a barbecue. I can join up and travel to Craters, then just tag along til Reno. Give me a call/e-mail/pm an let me know the schematics. About what time Monday do you plan to be here. If it is early enough, the barbecue idea will work out great. If I were you, and the rest of the people in the group that come with, I would not stay in Boise. Too expensive. Nampa, which is just 15 miles west of Boise offers accomodations just the same as Boise without the Boise cost. That and I would not trust my beloved SVX overnight in Boise(depends on where you stay).

If you want to contact me here is the following info.

Craters of the Moon is so awesome.... but you have to get there early in the day as it's hot as Hades. We were there in early May a couple years ago and it was wonderful!

Wish we had time to join up with you guys just for the drive.... but it's sort of out of the way. We'll be headed from western CO to Reno on Friday the 18th.

Yeah, I was hoping to leave Boise for Craters around 5am. I don't think Boise is any more expensive midweek, and I'm hoping I shouldn't be any more worried about my car there than I am when I park it in Seattle. It'd be cool to meet up with people in cities (where do you people eat? where can I go if something breaks? how about finding a gentle car wash?), but I don't know how much interest anyone else will have in going on my weird-landscapes-too-early-in-the-morning tour: Craters of the Moon national monument, Arches national park, Canyonlands national monument, Great Salt Lakes, Pyramid Lake.

I know that Mayo is planning a similar route to me, but he wants to go to different places so I'm not sure how much our trips will overlap.

I'm taking a coastal route back to WA (South Lake Tahoe, Eureka, Bandon).

I think my route home from Reno may match Alycone's. But the trip to Reno will probably not. But I was thinking last night on the way home, that I could meet up Aly (and the group?) in Moab for a treak to Reno.

To do that, I could go Seattle, Mountain Home, Vegas, Lake Powell (2 days), Moab (2 days), then meet up w/ Aly.

That's an option at least. I won't really know for sure what my route will be until early June though.

If anyone's planning the "across Utah and Nevada" trek for Friday, let me know.... since that is what we're gonna do.

i think that aly's plan will work for me. I am in for whatever works. The food is pretty good. There is a Subaru Dealership 15 miles west of Boise. Most carwashes around here are gentile. Anything will work, all I want is a solid plan to caravan with someone or a small group. Let me know how things pan out.

Unless I have a really amazing next few months financially I won't be able to be gone for more than 7 days.....

so most likely I won't be able to make the Idaho meet.
