Maybe this isn't the best place to bring this up in, but with all the people with significant mods on their cars, has anyone considered the LoJack system (www.lojack.com)?

One site I went to said its $695 w/ installation. That doesn't seem to be alot compared to say....a new set of wheels and tires. And the piece of mind I is priceless. Plus some states require discounts on insurance.

I suggest you can all these posts. Theres a GOOD chance that the theives are prowling around these boards. How else would they find out where the cars are? Keep any developments or ideas quet until they find the car or close the investigation. Thats your best bet right now. If youre in Montreal or Quebec, watch your cars well. I suggest you incapacitate your car somehow, until something is found. The fact that they took all the stuff out makes me wonder if they're running something. Oh, check your cell and see if there are any strange numbers.

I wish you luck. I'll keep my eyes open for any SVX w/ canadian plates here in Buffalo. Start a list of your VIN numbers and License Plates, I'll keep it in my car.

Agreed, whomever is doing such terrible things could be getting a lot of information from this website such as locations and all.

It is odd, that someone would remove winter mats, spare tires, and such. For what purpose? The only thing I could think of, is that the person wants to put something in the well for the spare tire yet if a person decided to do illegal things, why steal the car unless the plan was to ditch it right away. This is really strange.

Just a thought

Maybe if the thieves did know about this site then they knew about top speed and needed to get something somewhere fast. It is easier to find an SVX than a Ferrari.

i have a strange feeling that they do prowl these boards. they found out that the server had tracker system and decided to dump it along with all the goods that could make it possible to identify. if they kept the manual they will prolly rebadge the car with a junked out vin and sell it. if it's the same ring that stole the other 2 svx's, they prolly have it all planned out.

a few years back, a few friends of mine were involved in one of the largest stolen cars and chop shop rings in atlanta. my guess is that they'll try to move the cars out of the country, rebadge, and sell.

another option is something from www.road.com. it's a small module that you can put in your car and you can track it via satellite. it updates every minute so it'll have the last minute updates of where you car was. my boss uses them for their large trucks. i'm thinking about getting one. it'll give you reports of where the car was, every point and time duration that the car was for the past month. you can have it in a browser or downloaded and converted into an excel file.

word to the thieves if they are reading this post......come to atlanta sometime...try to steal my svx. i will find you and i will kill you if you move into atlanta.

Lightbulb trap

it's just so weird. why recently there're so many svx got stolen in canada?? maybe for those of you in canada who still own the svx can set up some traps to track those thieves down ... you guys can work together but it's not wise to expose the ideas in this forum ...try to contact by PM or some other ways ... if they read this, this may give 'em some warnings to steal an svx next time ... hopefully this won't come to usa .....

If they do prowl the sites. The admins can trace them.

Visit www.defenshield.com, and I'll know who, when, where, what you looked at and for how long.
I'll say no more publicly.

I'd think (I'm sure) it was stolen to order... it's in a container. These guys are WAY sophisticated. Probibly were using picts in your locker to sell the car. Scary I know. They know where Lo-jacs are installed and so forth. They don't work in containers anyway.

The fact that the thieves had left the server in a container doesn't prove that they had read in the forum that the server has a tracking system. The restaurant owner said to the police that at 05h00 am when he went out to put some garbage in the container, he saw the spare tire in it. (He didn't notice the grey server and the rest of my stuff was in a garbage bag...) My first post about my missing car was around 07h00 am.

In the way the police talked to me, I don't think I'll see my car again. They also find my plate in the container. It's not a really good sign......

There's no finger prints, except mine, on my stuff and either on the Acura. My dad's planning to installed a car alarm, after he seen how easy they open up his cars... My next car's gonna have a tracking system, like Boomerang or something like this....

From now on, I'll only post non directly related informations about all this....

I'll keep you updated....

Thank you for all your help and support!

Sounds like these wern't the common stupid thieves... But hey, ya got back some of your stuff that was stolen right... I hope that something works out so you can get another SVX and stay apart of the SVX family with us... Let us know what ya do man!! Good luck and don't feel too sad, because under all the love that we give these unique cars they are still just metal and plastic... You'll find another and then it will be your "baby"...

You're right about this, it was only a car. It was MY CAR but I'll find another one....but it's hard to find one in Quebec, there's not many SVX's available.
