Not getting any spark?

To make a long story short, my svx has been sitting for 8 months. I would periodically start it every week or so but 3 months ago it stopped starting. My guess was the fuel pump. I've got the new pump in and it still won't start. I pulled the fuel lines to the motor open, and they're gettin gas. The car turns over and tries to start like it should, but juat never startw. Any info will help.

Can you hear the fuel pump running?

Re: Not getting any spark?

I'm pretty sure I do, its hard to tell because the battery is dead . So im having to jump start it in my garage and having another car running right next to me is rsther loud. Ive opened the fuel lines to the motor, let them drain out and then put them back and attempted to start it. I opened the fuels lines again after that, and they had more fuel in them.

Re: Not getting any spark?

Start by charging the battery. Take off the fuel lines at the filter and crank it over. Gas should shoot out. Remove one of the coils from a spark plug and put a spare plug in it. Any plug will do. Rest the end against the block and crank it over. Don't hold onto it unless you like shock therapy. You should see a nice spark.
Trying to work with a dead battery is a waste of time and effort. With it fully charged it may surprise you and start right up. If a battery is totally dead, even boosting it with another car will not provide enough juice for the car to start in many cases.

Re: Not getting any spark?

Well maybe tomorrow I'll go over to Vatozone and pick up a new battery and go from there.

I bought a new battery today, I disconnected one of the fuel lines from the filter and gas came out. Pulled one coil and and put a olug in it and reated the end of it in the block and no spark. Any ideas?

Also, i opened up the little kick panel thing by the brake pedal. I saw these things connectors disconnected and two exposed wires. What do these go to?
