Mirror Heater
Does anyone ever truly use this function? Unless there's a sheet of ice frozen on the mirrors, I don't see the point. I would think that function would be designed for climates such as this, but I've had zero need for it. Anyone find it useful?

this might seem real strange for a guy from Florida, but yes I use them from time to time. here's why:
2 car garage, three cars. if the SVX (my ride) is last home then it sits outside. we have so much humidity that the windows and mirrors are fogged in the morning from dew, and will fog over again as you drive. So, I use a california water blade to pull water off the surfaces, then use the rear window and side view mirror heaters to keep the glass clear until air flow or whatever takes over enough to keep them clear.

I find it really useful. But I live in snow most of the time.

never used mirror-defrost. i also rarely use the sunroof and foglights.

If you park your car outside, then you will find that the mirror defrost is a useful tool. When you have ice on it since it rained during the night and it froze in the morning.

I installed teh heated mirror function on my car last week. (I have an L and it wasnt installed from the factory) I have used them about 3 times in the last week... mostly because the novelty of them...
 If i had a sunroof, I would use it all the time. I LOVE sunroofs, but when this svx came along i bought it because it was in good shape and had low miles. Mike

I use it from time to time. Usually when there is frost on the car. I have used it when there was dew on the mirrors too. It can be helpful at times.

Ahhh I LOVE my sun roof!
It's the greatest to cruise around in the spring or summer with the windows down and sun roof open with music going in the background.My SVX lives outside from time to time and I've never needed the mirror heaters, but I think i've discovered why. It's because I hardly ever use the side mirrors to begin with  I'm more of a rearview mirror and head turning kinda guy.
