A rather sexist comment in these enlightened times. You won't hear that sort of thing from me.

Randy,

The beauty of it is that the gathering doesn't necessarily have to be of like beliefs, or at a certain time or a certain place.

Perfect example would be Sunday morning 8am at the 10th meet.

Way O/T, but I never got a chance to thank Steve for setting it up that morning. THX!

It can happen every day, any time we deem to assemble with people of like beliefs. "Church" was formed to give people places to go . . . it's a good thing - for sake of convenience. But, if you don't have the "relationship" it's a moot visitation.

But yeah, it was cool. I'll remember it too.

I started reading a book on Shaivism.... pretty interesting.

Beav, excellent analogy! I heard that a long time back but forgot all about it. Thanks for reminding me

Cash, you're missing the whole point. Try not to take things so literally and read the meanings behind the words and not just the words. "Going to church" is not the rock. What is meant is the nurturing of the soul and finding peace with one's self and his place in the universe. It's just that most people associate that with church and that is how the author of this story chose to express that sentiment. The meaning of the words is far more relevant than the words used. Nurturing the soul is every bit as important as taking care of your kids and loving your family. Some would say it is the most important. Regarless of the ranking a reader would give it, it is still a very large and important rock.

For everyone else here - can your SVX be considered a rock in this analogy?

I don't know about that, Leslie. It would go great with a large, cold Margarita. Since you BETTER not know about that for 5 more years, I do extend the offer to treat you with one on your 21st birthday

And thanks to you and Annie and etc, and etc, for attending.

Sort of biting my tongue, resisting further comment.
