Stereo Vibrations

Anyone ever experience vibrating/rattling/buzzing coming from the door area when the music is playing on a decent volume? I'm not talking about the speaker area; it's more toward the middle of the car.

It sounds like it does it more when there's more bass available. I guess something's rattling from the bass. When the doors are unlocked, that tab on the door (it's up when doors are unlocked, down when locked) seems to vibrate more, so locking the doors helps, but it's still present.

I guess I'll have to take the door apart and see what I can do. I was just hoping that someone else out there experienced and fixed this?

Oh goodness. I have to install an explosive to fix it? Well I suppose that'll fix it. That'll fix it real good! Once and for all! Yeeaahhh that's the ticket.

ummm i mean, is that some sort of a sound proofer of sorts? and how did you go about installing this?

its a sound-proofing material that you can line your doors, trunk, etc. with. Crutchfield sells it, maybe Best Buy/Circuit City? it will add weight to your car, though.

Thank you all for the info about dynamat. I'll have to add it to the X-MAS list.

The locks on mine rattled real bad too.

My solution was to get some velcro (the fuzzy part) and put little strips of it on the sides of the lock. It cleared it up perfectly.

Just a cheap way if you dont have the cash to get dynamat. (which i have around my front speakers too)

I've found that my door locks rattle only because the interior panel is not on correctly. My passenger panel is on properly and the lock doesn't rattle.

linkage rattling

If you hear a linkage rattling, you can coat it with a heavy grease and that will shut it up.
