Now a blinking power light

Fix 1 or 2 problems and another starts... Washed my car and got my summer tires put on. As soon as I get my car back I notice my cars trans is shifting all weird as in shifting later and a lot more stiffer.

Restart the car, notice the power light is blinking. So looked around on here see there is a procedure to pull the code. No luck on getting the code. Seen that a common fix is to change the resistor. So popped on my "resistor mod" resistor that I had laying around. That didn't fix it.. When I drove up a hill gave it more gas to put it in power mode. It went in. But it didn't come out until I stopped and shifted back to park..

This is a 4.44 trans in the car. I don't think that makes any difference however..

Any ideas?

Thanks guys

Re: Now a blinking power light

There are only 12 codes. Minus 1 with the trying the different resistor. Without being able to pull the code. I'm thinking codes 31,32,33 throttle sensor and/or vehicle speed sensor 1 and 2. I want to check the connector that these go too. I pulled of the torque box. Checked the 2 connector under it and the ground they were plugged in. Honestly don't know what those wires contain or do. Is the vehicle speed sensor located in the area of the wheels? Meaning the abs speed sensor?

Re: Now a blinking power light

Are you checking the codes the right way, here is the document to follow to check the transmission codes.

Here is the document to follow to check the engine codes. But I think the one you want is going to be the transmission document.

Re: Now a blinking power light

Did you try to pull the transmission codes, but they did not show up on the blinking power light?

Here is the link to how to pull the codes.

Re: Now a blinking power light

Sure did try... 6 different times. Are there any 4.44 that do not allow you to pull codes this way. I was searching around an seen a guy with a 4.44 that had a 97 out of legacy that was not able to pull codes, this was off of svx world forum.

Re: Now a blinking power light

So I decided to pop off the terminals on the battery and put the original resistor back on. To clear the code and see what would happen. Still felt weird.. shift way to high and to stiff. Tried to kick on the power mode. It put the check engine light on instead.

Check the code. Came up with code 35 purge control solenoid valve.

So I let it sit for a half hour. Came back out started it, no check engine light. But the blinking power light was back.

Earlier this week, I had a friend do some work for me. Took the intake manifold off. To change the 2 knock sensor, pcv valve, and the vacuum hoses under the manifold. In the process of removing the old hose, One of the sensor broke. It was a "duty" sensor? So it was replaced..
