Stock tranny oil cooler location

Hi!

Its time to install tranny cooler with MOCAL thermostat (it is sub zero half year here, so ATF will heating by stock system, and cooler will start cooling only after 176F)

The main question - will cooler works good if i`ll install it between engine radiator and A/C radiator?
The cooler i want:

I dont want to cut metal, but its the only way to install it in front of A/C radiator, here the HOW-TO by friend of mine own JDM
(the article in russian, but its all clear because of pictures)

Thank you!
P.S. Maximum day temperature is 95F here

Re: Stock tranny oil cooler location

it will work in that location. it is however easier to mount it in the driver fender well. there is a write up in the how to section i think. this way you only have to cut the plastic and no metal.

Re: Stock tranny oil cooler location

Yeah, i`ve reviewed that location and i think i`ll be tired of cleaning it from mud, cause, unfortunately, there are not enough sunny days here
And its easier for me install it between radiators..
How many efficiency will missing if i`ll install it there?
For example - in front A/C radiator position - efficiency will be 100%
between radiators 75-80% ?

Re: Stock tranny oil cooler location

it would depend on how much (if at all) you run the ac. this would warm up the air before it flows over the tranny cooler. the restriction of air through the condenser in front of it won't make much difference as opposed to behind it because it will provide resistance to air flowing over it from behind or in front. your location should work just fine but probably be a decent amount of work.

Re: Stock tranny oil cooler location

Mine is sandwiched between the 2 radiators. SVXFiles installed it for me. I don't recall him cutting anything.
