trans service
my trans is flaring a bit between 2-3 , i went and talked to a transmission shop and i'm going to take it there next week to get a full service (drain and fill not flush )and a brake band adjustment , he asked me to try to find out the exact type of gearbox it is ?
i know its a 4eat and said that to him but he said its probably an RN107 or something like that ? anyone know ? so he orders the correct filter and sump gasket or if someone has the subaru part numbers on hand that would be helpful? * comes up with nothing to do with transmissions when i enter rn107 ok so i think i found what he was talking about by using wikipedia looking through the jatco transmission list i think i found the gearbox "model" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jatco_4R01_transmission Last edited by aust92pearl; 03-27-2012 at 11:24 PM. |

Re: trans service
update , just got my car back from the transmission guy
he said the gearbox was surprisingly clean inside for how old it is and there was nothing on the magnet at all he tightened the brake bands and replaced the trans filter and pan gasket (apparently they are the exact same part for all 4eats he was doing an early forester after mine and had the same filter and gasket for it aswell ) also i finally found the transmission name well kinda http://www.sonnax.com/system/pdfs/15...pdf?1289926277 i think he said it was a RE4Z01A |
