Stupid ECU Question
Should an ECU from a '94 plug directly into a '92 without any issues? Any advantages/disadvantages to doing it?

Re: Stupid ECU Question
94 ECU will look for the EGR temp sensor reading I believe. The 92 federal ECU was the best one to use FYI...

Re: Stupid ECU Question
Just tried it! 94 ECU plugs into 92 car and works flawlessly. Just tried it. Did the ECU as well. Car runs MUCH, MUCH better with the 94 ECU with an EPROM on it that says "93 Cali / 94 All"
So, a 94 ECU will run a 92 perfectly. |

Re: Stupid ECU Question
Yeah. The ground wire for the EGR temp sensor is what switches to ECU to California mode. If you don't have an EGR temp sensor then the ECU pin isn't grounded and it uses 49-States mode, which is correct for a 92.
