Air Bag light on

My air bag light in my '92 is on. I did the self diagnosis by putting one of the two blue leads into pin 9 as directed by the service manual. When I turned the key to "ON" and looked for error codes, the light just kept shining, mocking me!

Any suggestions? Alternate diagnostic method?

I'm trying to get it safety inspected tomorrow, so help if you can.

Thanks,
Keith

Re: Air Bag light on

The air bag computer may have been smoked also. I removed the warning light for the inspection on my Ebony. I still haven't resolved the problem.

Re: Air Bag light on

Other way around- turn the ignition to ACC, then plug into pin 9

Re: Air Bag light on

You could have a connector loose which will cause a constant warning light.
Go to the How-To documents on airbag system if you are unsure, but check your fuses, inspect the control unit under the radio (your harnesses connect there), under the steering column behind the coin holder panel, and the last place is behind the steering wheel cover.

Disconnect the battery you should wait at LEAST 10 mins before you start pulling things apart.
