Damaged the DCCD

Okay well its happened I managed to destroyed the DCCD unit in my 6 speed box. It locking up so bad and with the large tyres I think it might damage the transmission. Must be to many sand dunes.

So I need to pick peoples brains on how to fixk the problem. Has anyone taken the back off the gearbox while it is in the car. I am not sure if I can remove the roll pin on one of the gear change lever.
Suggestion help appricated.
Tony

Re: Damaged the DCCD

The latest,
The car is back on the road and yes the DCCD had locked up 100% 4wd. It had generated so much heat that it burnt the oil in the gearbox. It all so burnt the oil on the shaft inside the box so when I took it apart it was sized to the shaft. Also the wires to the DCCD unit were broke so the controller didn't work.
Got a secondhand unit from the USA and all is now good.
Car is coming up to its 600,000k birthday so the million dollar question is when do I bury it, at 700,000 or 800,000. have no idea of the answer.
