Re: My SVX is leaning
Hard to judge the space between the top of the spring mount and the top of the strut tower.... can you feel up there and see if it feels like there is more space above the spring seat on the drivers side than on the passengers side?

Re: My SVX is leaning
Well I bit the bullet and took it in to my independent Subie shop.
They couldn't find anything out of whack with the mounts or anything in general. Their guess on the lean is a weaker spring on that side or possibly a weaker strut. Possibly even the donor car they came from had been hit on that side? Basically they said there was nothing dangerous about it and I am fine driving it like that until I figure out what I want to do. Well I got a good 3,000 miles out of it at least. The clunking sound is unrelated and looks to be a bad control arm bushing. Unfortunately the bushings can't be replaced and the whole assembly must be purchased. Here's their list of recommendations based on that: -front left swaybar bushing endlink worn and loose $69P & 59L -swaybar bushing are dry and creaking $??? -left front control arm bushings leak grease and may clunk $633.15 plug alignment with new balljoint The good news is nothing needs to be addressed immediately. The bad news is that's a lot of money to get rid of some annoyances with the car and make it handle like it's supposed to.

Re: My SVX is leaning
Troy,
The endlinks are VERY easy to replace and can be done with basic hand tools. The swaybar bushings are also easily replaced. Both operations can be done on a jack with basic hand tools.

Re: My SVX is leaning
Hmmmmm Maybe I'll order up some new endlinks and bushings and at least do that.
Also when Tom did my car he did the 15 min and 20 min mods, plus I'm pretty sure upgraded front and rear swaybar bushings but I'm not sure, that was months ago. I'll have to go back over everything and figure out what's done and what's not.
