Spoiler woes

Due to her fear of the web, my mom won't join this site. So I have to post something for her.

About a year ago, her '92 was caught in a hail storm. No dents to speak of, but the spoiler was chipped up pretty badly. She took the car to a boy shop to have the sppoiler repaired before the meet. The guy there says that the spoiler is delaminated and would take him 6 hours to repair with bondo, plus the paintwork.

Anybody ever hear of this? I know that the spoiler and trunk are made with a composite material, so I guess I can see this happening, but I wouldn't expect hail to be sufficient to cause htis kind of damage.

Anyway, spoilers are pretty hard to come by these days, aren't they?

i feel your pain...while it was undrivable, my car was left in the lot...therefore exposed to the elements. i think there were two hailstorms while it was sitting there...needless to say, they pounded the hell out of my spoiler. how much are they quoting for the repair job???
