Security System Reset/troubleshoot.

We have two SVX's and no remotes for the security systems. With the security button pressed, security light stays on and does not flash and does not arm. Both cars the same thing. Anyone know how to reset or troubleshoot the security systems without a remote? The service manual does not cover this.

If the light stays on, there is most likely a problem with the security module.

If you have a passenger side airbag the module is in the trunk, between the speakers. If there is no passenger airbag the module is up above the glovebox. There is a fuse in the module, but I doubt that's it.

You can either get stock key fobs from the dealer for about $50 or get aftermarket ones from www.keylessride.com for about $20.

Anybody here use their products? No fob for mine, so it interests me.

Yeah, I have one. It works great.

The only problem is that they all seem to be coded the same, so if you're around a bunch of other SVX's, you may all be locking/unlocking each others doors.

This is always a fun activity at big meets like Reading
