Myxalplyx... glad to see that you are going into cool air with the filter... THAT is the dyno I am interested in.
Looking at the intake tube... VERY good design. You have yourself a piece to be proud of.
I am having thoughts of boost for my engine now and a variant of that intake would be great in a forced induction setup.

Congrats on your ideas being proven.

Still isolating the filter will do him more good...

See guys? I might be getting similar figures through my K&N in da copper box... you never know

(tough croud to please)

The auto tranny gives more of a 25-30% parasitic loss.

Big giant congrats! Now we have another great change to add to the cars that is almost a must for anyone one the forum looking for some smoother power. I know I was dissapointed when I got my car thinking I'd only do a few things to it and one of them being shot cause of the dual TB. I was just gonna crank, cold air, exhaust, and piggy back. The rest doesn't help as much with out some way for it to breath. So I guess Tom's gonna have to get a team of people to beable to keep up with demand unless Kevin brings the design to a parts company to produce. Either way I'm down for one! That'll put me at the intake and crank done. I really need to stop there to save to buy my EZ for my Impreza. One final congrats!

you gotta be ****ing kidding me.... 20 whp?!?!?! thats great!!! I never expected it. The AFR issue might be a slight leak in couplers or vaccum fittings... WOW I am just blown away. Looks like I need to get to making my dual intake setup for my car

I just want to point out that there are a lot of other factors here. Your current stat of mods is one (exhaust setup, cams, etc). Another is I posted the max hp/tq gain. It is not that much across the board, all the time, in all gears. Also, the hood was open so it will be sucking in hot air if/when you close your hood. You need to make this a cold-air setup. Even still, I do not know how that will change the flow charecteristics, sound resonance, etc..... Yet anyways! Just wanted to give a heads up.

Plus...this doesn't seem to be an easy setup at all. Good luck Tom if you want to continue making these.

no it is not easy to make... I tried my best to make that merger as smooth as possible and it still needs to be cleaned up. Long die grinder?? Besides that, I am so glad it worked out well for you. To be honest, I would be pretty embarrassed if I made u wait that long for something that wasn't that good. Well... Its working and I am a happy camper. I hope all goes well.... You still in for drag racing at Atco tonight?? Looks like the weather might hold out and my bro, te1221 and myself are going to be there

I am always in for drag racing but I have to go to class to turn in my Final 'take-home' test tonight. If that is all we need to do, I will be leaving straight from school to the strip. Might can be the 8pm or so but I have a feeling the professor has other plans. Stock intake is still installed too. I need to change it over to the cold the cold air setup. That won't happen until tomorrow evening.

Kevin/Tom,

Very nice! I think the acid test will be putting the intake on a "stock" svx and making a few dyno pulls. It could very well be that the intake is a great compliment to the intake cams that Kevin has in the car, thus resulting in the impressive increase. I'd also like to see what happens when the cone filter gets moved out of the engine bay. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't see a couple more hp!

Nice Kevin, just as with the 6 you've done what no one else seemed capable of doing. Now just so you know, that intake looks like crap. It definately doesn't belong under your imacculate hood so I'd be happy to pay for shipping and give it a proper resting place...

Awesome result Kevin - it was great speaking with you tonight. TomsSVX, that's a fine looking intake you made!
