A quick set of questions
My engine is knocking and it is causing the car to go into "limp mode". What is possibly causing the knock? and how can I solve it?
my trans is slipping in second gear pretty bad, is there anything I can do at this point to try and save it? Lucas Oil treatments? or a flush maybe? this car is giving me hell, I have been trying to sell it for about 4 months now. I'm in college and can't afford the repairs in it anymore. I trying to get a little honda or toyota as a replacement. If anyone is interested, these two problems are the only things wrong with the car

Maybe some of our better Mechanics here can give you a few ideas on your problems. Have you checked the codes to find out what it is telling you? That would be your first step. Good luck.

In one of my cars 2nd gear didnt work at all. after adjusting the brake band it worked great, may want to try it. As for the knocking it could be a list of things low oil level/pump not making any pressure/dry rotted pickup tube o-ring/excessive bearing clearence/ bad gas/ bad knock sensors just to name a few.

The timing belt could be off by a couple of notches, but I don't know how that would have happened.
