Arrow *Sunroof Drain Tubes

Hello Everyone,

I have located two sunroof drain lines at the front 2 corners of the sunroof. I ran a length of weed eater string down the drain lines, to ensure there was not anything blocking the lines.

After I about 4' to 6' feet down the tube it would just stop. Same thing on the other side.

I could not see it coming out. I think it was hitting the body in the tire well, behind the black plastic.

Here is my question--> Does Anyone Know Where these drains end at? Also, is there 2 more in the back 2 corners?

I have read that most other sunroofs have 4 drains (one in each corner). So I figured this one would be the same.

-Thanks for the help

Good question. I would guess (only a guess) that they exit somewhere in the door jamb, as that's the shortest route to a free draining point. I'll go take a look at mine sometime

The diagram was scanned from the SVX Shop Manual. Actually the shop manual is a set of 4 books for 92 models and addendum books for changes in later years. The set costs approximately $300, but a CD version can be bought for less than $20 on Ebay or a seller on here. The CD version is not as good or convenient as the hard copies, but it will provide most of the information you need.

I believe everyone should check their drain tubes to ensure they are not out of place. I had 2 of the 4 pull out of the larger tubes and I believe this contributed to the rust issues I'm dealing with.

The tubes in the trunk are easy to check and if they get pulled out of the bigger tubes, you will get water in the trunk.

thanks, I hope thats the cause of my trunk lake. found one of the ?4? drain hoses in the trunk pulled out. sadly putting it back in didn't give me much hope of it staying. Trying to decide if light pressure from a ziptie will keep it in place or if I need to just go ahead and use a little glue to secure it in.

Unfortunately by the time I found out these hoses were pulled out on mine the damage was done.

Re: *Sunroof Drain Tubes

Hello everyone. Been searching and reading for days. Trying to get the 'new' SVX maintenance up to date. Soooo....
I looked for the drain holes on the sunroof - in the corners. I can't seem to find them. I do have some vision problems up close... but I didn't think it was that bad. Any 'insight' on exactly where the holes are.
And the previous owner said the trunk leaked. I checked and resealed the taillights. Found the diagram for the draintubes. How do I find where the rubber hose connects in the trunk? Does a panel pull off? How do I pull the panel without breaking tabs?
Thanks for the help. Sorry about the newb syndrome... but I'll get there soon. Ron W.
