One less tranny in the world

I have been depressed. Thursday I come home and see a UPS sticker on my door for the last piece of exhaust for the stebro/magnaflow install...I head over to gas station...acting with no giddyup in first gear (I have new o2 sensors because I know the ones in there were going) get gas, head to ups pick up part, head to auto zone for a few items...Sit at auto zone because my car does not have reverse. They I realize, that it didnnt have any speed in first because I didnt have first and it was just in second. Duh

Anywho, I already have a silver 92 here that I was going to to the manual swap with, now I need to decide what I am going to do with my Daily driver blue 94. Glad I still have my 2k maxima.

I assume this is a normal thing loosing reverse and first. I also assume it requires full rebuild/replacement (not just something that can be fixed easily/inexpensive).

You have not provided much to go on.

Slipping has not been mentioned and your problem could well be confined to components which can be accessed without removing the transmission, i.e. one of selection and control.

Will first engage and operate if selected as such, rather than starting in drive, third or second?

I dont know...I got pissed and parked it. Then worked on my garage for the past 2 days. rebuilding the inside. Even took Friday off because I was pissed. If I get a chance I will look at it Sunday...WHen I put it into reverse, it clunks twice. I remember that.
