Some would say that huge speakers in a beautiful SVX would be untasteful---not to mention cheap ugly WRX seats. Are they true mods or should they be in General Babble also?

I guess a mod is a mod whether an improvement or not.

Hiya,

There is another side to it...

The guy has added items he feels are of some need to him and its a testament to the car it obviously he feels its up to the job to take on more dedicated 4x4 off road vehicles.

Fair game to the guy, it might not look pretty but its 1 still going & seems in pretty good condition and being enjoyed!

On the matter of off road, has anyone got any pics or details of the 1992ish Paris-Dakar SVX that was entered, I belive it also fnished in the top 30!
I had some pics but they were lost on another PC, the front bullbar and rear wheel carrier look similar from memory, wonder if it might be the same car or parts used from the original, it would be interesting to find out.

A very interesting precedent!!! So now you are deciding what is an acceptable mod?? I think some mods are acceptable to some people and very offensive to others.

Is there going to be a panel from now on that decides whether it is a "mod" of an "offensive addition"???????

That is what I love---more government and fine tuned laws of change with different definitions by different people.

Where did I say anything about an offensive, or acceptable Mod... I said that the thread was not about HOW TO Mod the car...

Starting with the front, the "brush guard" doesn't look like it would be very useful since it protects what looks to be roughly the middle third of the bumper/grille. And, although pure speculation on my part - the thing doesn't look to be too well connected to the car anyway.

I'd go along with the need for shovels in the outback or dessert or wherever this dude is going - but chromed ones? Aren't they going to lose their shine after the first scoop?

I'll make no comment on the jerry cans on the side. Looks like a good sideswipe with a weed would strip them off though.
Which brings us to the survival-issue continental kit on the back. Uh-huh. I see them on Land Rovers all the time.

Now, if the SVX in question had a decent amount of lift in the suspension and a more trail-friendly set of wheels and tires, I might buy into this notion a little more.

I CAN and DO read and comprehend very well. Since when is the MOD Mania Forum solely based on How To Mod????????? Only a small percentage of the threads in the forum actual address HOW TO.

I like the front bumper grille. Be very useful anywhere where there are deer. As for the spare tire, eh... its actually kinda cool.

Nope...still stupid...

I admit that I missed the shovels, at a glance presuming they were trumpet horns, there being no room under the bonnet for such music. The shovels could well be stainless as offered by any garden shop.

However the shovels do seem a bit over the top.

My point is that without the real facts, one should not be so unkind as to jump to conclusions.
