Question poor fuel economy

my 92 svx lsl awd is getting horrible fuel mileage. i get about 125 miles per tank where do i start and what do i do. it's got 99,000 miles and the previous owner had the o2 sensors changed at 80,000. i just had the plugs changed about 4,000 miles ago. also sometimes it will randomly stall at low engine speeds like when i come up to a stop sign, this has only happened about 4-5 times. and one more thing some times in the morning when i start it it will have a little bit of blue smoke from the exhaust. thanks in advance Curtis

Check all hoses

It sounds to me that at least a place to start is checking all the vacuum hoses. you might also want to check the MAF sensor and the air filter. then try to figure out if the fuel pump is dead or the fuel filter is stuffed.

I suggest that you look under the snorkle were it clamps to the throttle body as they generally fold over then suck air in. This will cause the blue smoke. Use a mirror to look underneath.

An idea -----

Logic would indicate that you improved something. Most likely cleaning the MAF sensor had the major affect. Cleaning may have helped, but not restored it to normal. You could try cleaning it again in the hope of further improvement. However you may need to replace it.

What did you use to clean your MAF sensor? Just curious as I think I need to clean mine. Sorry to get off topic.

Are you using premium fuel? I tried regular for awhile and my mileage dropped. Switched back and all is back to norm.
