Removing Glove Box

Can someone please either give my detailed instructions (preferably including pictures) on how to remove the glove box or point me to somewhere in the service manual that describes the procedure? I tried today and couldn't do it. I removes the 5 large screws, the three small ones across the back, the three across the top, the 2 on either side and the 3 that hold the door on. The box was loose, but I could not remove it. I could not find any more screws to remove, but I figure there must be something still holding it.
Thanks.

Thanks, Beav, but I have that picture. I still can't see what else I need to do to get the box out. Do I need to remove the striker (#12 in the picture)? Do I need to remove the bracket (#13 in the picture)?

As I mentioned, I removed 15 screws and bolts and couldn't see what was holding it from coming out. I couldn't find instruction anywhere in the 6 volumes of the service manual.

Yank on it harder. Some times the knuckle dragging tree dweller method is the only one that works

No for #12 and #13. Just remember there's at least 15 bolts/screws that need to come out.

It's a little tough to get out. Just make sure you get ALL the screws out.
Whenever I take apart something with lots of different screws, I put them all in numbered dixie cups, and make a simple drawing with numbers ref. which dixie cup.

A little off topic, but true story, I took my TCU out instead of the security module, which was the goal, when I removed my glove box.

I then wondered why the car would not move from park.

Oops. No permanent damage right?

Well, then maybe it is just a question yanking harder. I was afraid of breaking something. I did remove 15 screws/bolts. There were 5 larger bolts in the back of the box. Then there were the screws - 3 in the back of the box, three across the top lip, and 2 on each side lip. And then the 3 screws that hold on the door. Can anyone tell me if there are any I missed?

Greggbzz - isn't the TCU under the steering wheel not behind the glove box?

If it's not the TCU what the heck did I take out? I definately removed an important looking module with a large plug. It's dirrectly behind the glove box. Small black box, on a 92' It's not the security module, for sure since I know what that is now.

This was about a year ago, but I do remember starting the car, and things were not working right. Maybe I'm lying a little bit? I'm not sure.

Either the cruise control module or the door lock timer.

I always thought there were 20 screws to remove the glove box, but it's been a long time since I did it and I may have removed a few that I didn't need to. The golden rule is: If it can be unscrewed, unscrew it.

Good rule -- then no one will get screwed.
