Paul,

Having held to my 24 hour rule, let me respond to your comment....

1. Saying "no offense" and then "It burns" just serves to insult one's intelligence as "It burns" is inherently offensive. If you don't like the picture, just say so. I've worked with NASA and U.S. Navy scientists, engineers, and managers on a daily basis for over 26 years, so I've got a fairly thick skin

2. Based on your comment, I can only guess that you're a Photoshop "guru" and respond to "non-professionals'" use of Photoshop much the same way professional publishers reacted when the Mac-Laserwriter combination opened up desktop publishing to the masses. Having worked with hard-core Photoshop and Illustrator users (i.e. graphic artists) for years, I assure you I know exactly what can be done with them

3. The picture I posted uses only the Photoshop (CS2) drybrush filter and I'm guessing you can probably post as to exactly how I tweaked the "brush size", "brush detail" and "texture" aspects of the filter. I submitted this picture - as "filtered" - because I like it and several other Network members commented on how much they liked it (in constrast to your stated opinion)

Finally,

4. Whatever rules David decides he wants to apply to the calendar are fine by me (i.e. I can easily provide the picture "unfiltered" ). The final decision as to what pictures are included should be left to a vote of Network members

'nuff said.

-Bill

Audrey,

"It burns" = really hurts his eyes

Photoshop is a high end software application that allows a user to do just about anything he/she would ever want to do to a digital image

As far as learning how to use Photoshop, it really comes down to what your career path is. My wife is a professional photographer and has her own dark room that she uses to do custom b&w prints. She has just recently gotten the "digital bug" and is learning Photoshop in order to complement her dark room work. I'm part mechanical engineer/part scientist/part project manager and know enough about Photoshop to be able to talk intelligently with graphic artists and dabble with it for my own stuff.

The unfiltered has some wide body to it.

I agree with the "cover" comment... photoshop inside not a good idea, but could make for a good cover.

I do like the photo either way! and the "expert critique" was a bit....

Mike,
Thanks. 275/45-16s with all steel "wide body" flares (done in ~12 hours leading up to the Subaru Challenge this year ). Still some work to do on the rear flares, just had to get the car on the trailer to get it up to the Challenge!

Thanks Bill, I guess burns makes sense. Kodi (shes 16) came home today and we were talking and she told me "Mom, stop WYLING" (pronounced Y LIN") I asked her what it was and she said it meant something like stop playing.... The kids these days sure cme up with weird stuff!

OK, as for photoshop, is the free version any good to use? I take TONS of dig pics but didnt know it made a difference what program I used to clean them up. I just use the kodak easyshare that came with my Z760 6.1 MP camera...is that as good as the photoshop? TIA for helping me, I can use a way to do better pics....
