If everything is working well I should do better than that. Something about the air over here.
I heard tale from the NASIOCers some guy with a mostly stock SVX ran 15.1 consistently, and my engine feels a lot better than it has in the past.

If my AWD was working back in 05 I would have run 15.3s. I'm confident about that.

There's a big difference between a stripped down race car and a full weight street car. I don't count the times your car runs when it comes to who has the quickest car because your not street legal in the least bit. Don't get me wrong, Just we compete in 2 different worlds.

In looking at the big picture though Jason, I wouldn't call your car a full-weight street car. You removed the backseat which I never did on any of my runs. It doesn't weigh much, so I'm not trying to detract anything from your times, but in SCCA racing the seats must remain in the car until you get to the Prepared classes (some classes like the Street Touring, Street Prepared, Street Mod, etc allow the replacement of the factory front seats for lightweight racing versions).

The removal of the spare and jack is required for all classes as a saftey measure.

Again, let me emphasize that the backseat in an SVX doesn't weigh much at all, and probably had little impact on your final times. If you had removed the alternator & p/s belt, it would probably have netted you a 0.3 second improvement per Benebob's thread.

Yes, I think next time I go I'll remove the belt to see what I get, But I didn't want to this time because my battery sucks and I wasn't interested in achieving my times like that. I wanted to hit the 14's on all motor and all accessories. I had to remove the back seat for Jerry to work on my car, So figured I might as well get it out of the way. I didn't really think it would make a difference because like you said, It weighs hardly anything.

Question Jason,

Was this time done on a fresher engine or do you still have the old engine in your car? Last time we met, I remember you telling me that you felt your engine was on the way out...

Chike (It's REALLY good to see an n/a street driven SVX in the 14's!!! )

Nor is yours. I can get it stickered and on the street tomorrow. Legally all we need is a cat and dot legal seat belt. If you consider yourself as a full weight street car then you'd be a cheater in my book. Street legal is as big of a joke as anything since you have 50 states and then zones within a state deciding what is legal and what isn't.

They removed themselves on Toms car the last time I ran it on the auto-X. (not recomended for improving auto-X times)

What's not a full weight street legal car about it? Just because I took out the spare and backseat?? Other than that, My car is complete and I've done no weight reduction yet what so ever. I look at it this way, You put your car all back together the way it came from the factory except the gear ratio(body, interior, and every piece that came on it from the factory including wheels) and then meet me on the track and we'll see who really is faster. Other than that though, There is not even a conversation to be had here because like I said, We are in 2 completely different worlds. You have a stripped down race car and I have a daily driver that actually has windows and heat. You take on the race cars auto-xing, and I'll take care of the street cars drag racing.

Post here so we all can compare. I'm currently the fastest listed with a 14.088. I'm hoping to break it in the spring.

I'm taking the winter off from the track and spending it fixing issues on the cars that have been annoying me all summer.

Then why'd you remove the seat? That would be weight reduction. Dumb weight reduction but weight reduction just the same. We do have windows fyi. I'd put it back together but I didn't want to part the car and it was already missing most of the interior.

When you start out a sentence with my car's stock EXCEPT: you're already looisng the battle of the stocks (unless you're a NASCRAP fan)

I'm not saying you didn't have a great time, I'm just saying you're far from stock.
