Cool... topped the sponser list...hehe..

I think you should have run the short belt to drive just the alternator, as I think fuel injected computer controled cars run better with the 14 volts of a charging alt than just the .12 of just a battery...worth th elittle drag it takes to run the alt....but that's just my thoughts on it...

Well the belt delete was worth .2 seconds. Funny we never got a single check engine light regardless of what I disassembled.

Honestly I wouldn't have been too worried about the engine. We have plenty more where they came from. Dave did shed an exhaust bit on the track towards the end of the day.

The shot would've helped cover up my screw up on the autox course... Letting a pro solo winner drive it on the last two runs slower than me.

1. The bulb works just fine
2. I didn't call, it wasn't me talking was it?
3. I have no concept of time at the moment. Not much concept of anything except I hurt from lack of sleep.

Here's the final results as best I know

Drag 21st out of 60 with a 14.242- Could have been down to 17th had we ran a 14.200. Beat quite a few stangs including big blocks and a gorgeous Cuda 318. FTD was a 10.5 out of a 260z on his first run no less. I think he had a 350 in it.

Autox 17th out of 60 with a 46.5??, again had I ran all 5 runs rather than a tire warmer 49, a 46.9 and then the 46.5 I know I could've been in the mid to high 45s which would have put us close to a top 10 autox finish. Instead our pro driver tanked which really doesn't suprise me, as Bill will probably agree it takes a bit of time to figure out the car. . He did runa 46.7 or so on his 2nd run though. FTD was 43.9 out of a gen 1 MR2 supercharged racer, which also took 1st in Concours and I personally though had a very hideous paint scheme from the second I saw it.

Concours, WE GOT HOSED with a 34 finish. Not a clue what they're looking for here as I was working the course when Dave ran it through it but a bone stock ford probe gt with a dent in the quarter panel beat us. Yeah it was a clean car and nicely detailed but still. I'm quite disappointed. Not that I thought we'd be a top 10 or even a top 20 but our car did look the best it has since we got it and shined nicely. Wish they actually provided a sheet of what caused points to be lost. Heck I even put a real sunroof back in it which is now somewhere on 95 in Georgia!!!

Final finish placement-
Driving alone was 19th
Everything, a 24th place

Had we used the extra $250 or so budgeted for nos and had I ran a 45.5 we would have been around 11 or 12th place even with our poor concours

Our next run wouldn't be an SVX but we have some ideas floating around. Anybody know what sub $1000 running shaft drive 100+hp motorcycle parts bikes are out there?

Ben,
Come on now, why'd you leave out the fact that there were 70-75 competitors (according to the GRM website)...ending up in the top 1/3 is great! My guess is that they hammered you in the concours due to the interior. Did anyone take pics of the car during the concours? Seems to me with you driving all 5 runs in the autoX, having NO2 in the 1/4, and having a more finished interior would have easily put you in the top ten. Congrats to both you and Dave!!
-Bill (already looking for a $400 SVX with a straight body and blown trans to go with a junkyard WRX 5spd....humm, this would leave ~$1107 for EBay rims/Hoosiers, dry shot NO2, and coil overs from a 3000GT or similar weight car to "adapt" )

See that's just it. The winning car was stripped.
