Question "Glider" wipers?

Has anyone tried the "Glider. ™. Beam Blade" wipers yet?
Are they worth the $13 price tag?

There are similar wipers of different brands. Some people like them.

I have the Bosch version on all my cars. Works incredibly well.

You have to keep the rubber maintained because they are too expensive to replace twice a year

Using Rain-X

I use rain-X too. I never even have to turn on my wipers cept when theres just a light dew on the windshield in the AM. I love it. I have heard that you can never stop using it though for some reason or another.?.?.?

It never comes off and leaves a nasty film. If you dont reapply it, it causes lots of streaks/hazing when you turn the wipers on.

AAAHHHH ok, so I should stop using it or not? It works so good on the SVX. I used it once on the explorer but it didnt work well. (shape of the windshield maybe?)

How do you keep your rubbers(wiper) maintained personally?

Do you maintain your rubbers on the wheels?

rub the blade with rubbing alcohol on a rag once a month to remove the oxidized rubber.

Tires are supposed to rough for wet traction. You don't want smooth tires in rain

Rain-X is actually horrible for the wipers. It eats away at the rubber. Great for sheeting off the rain, but it will decrease the overall life of your windshield wipers.

Even If I have to buy a set every year , they are relatively cheap. Im thinking if they are the bulk of what I have to replace on this car then Im going to be doing very good!
