Question Svx Steering Locked..????

OK I drove my car to work today and everything was fine. I came home and parked it in the driveway and when I went back out about 7 hours later when I tried to start it I couldnt turn the key and the wheel was locked way past (like 1/4 turn) where it usually is. I tried a few times and wiggled the wheel and it finally sprung loose and I started it.
Can anybody tell me what might have happened and if its something bad?

Try turning the wheel a little and the key will then turn.

It wasnt like "most cars" though. I have drove quite a few in my years of driving but this wasnt the same. It was locked way past the normal position that it usually is. Just thought it might be something I havent read about a SVX, guess it was just something weird. Thanks for replying...

Parked on an incline? Could it have rolled a little back to bind it 1/4 more?

Theres a slight grade all the way down my driveway and it levels off before you pull into the garage, maybe thats what it was, it was definately in more of a bind then its supposed to be, I have had a lot of cars, (including 2 drag cars) but since this car is so much different then anything Ive owned, I thought I would ask. Now, I am going to change the oil to a castrol synthetic and maybe start some body work, the shop should be open in the next week or 2 so I can get it painted! YAY

If the key goes in and won't turn, it's not parking lock, it's the steering wheel lock. The locks on the older cars take a bit of turning to engage, much more than just a few inches like newer cars. However, the method of disengagement is the same. If you come to the car and stick the key in and it won't turn, turn the wheel a little bit more the direction it is turned (like an inch, maybe), this releases the tension from the locking mechanism to let you turn the key to start the car.

Thanks, I figure this is what happened now & because of the grade into the driveway, it was just turned further then normal...maybe. (who knows!) Thanks for the help!
