Hey

I got mine out a couple months ago. Basically, be prepared for two weeks of utter hell. If you don't have prescription vicodin or ideally something stronger, I highly advise you get it. Your face will most likely swell up like you just picked a fight with Mike Tyson. As in my case, it could continue swelling for up to a week. Basically ice/heat, whatever feels comfortable, is your friend. I would recommend 15 minute sessions 6-8 times a day. I had to take two weeks off school, then again I had two dry sockets on the bottom sides where they are most popular. You can get it no matter how good your surgeon is. To minimize these odds do not suck through anything like a straw, stick to soup, use prescription antibacterial mouthwash lightly 3 times a day for 2-3 weeks, and get a syringe to irrigate the food out of those holes. I'm still doing this and I had the operation done a month ago. They will slowly fill in from the bottom up. I hope you chose to be unconcious during the procedure. Wisdom teeth are just proof of human evolution.

I had my lower wisdoms removed. They gave me Tylenol 3's for the pain. I didn't notice any difference in pain from taking them so I stopped. I still have the pills.

man one started to get infected a few days ago
and yeah, still sporting the chipmunk look.
Everytime I go to get an icecream from next door the girl there bloats out here cheeks at me lol.
Advice ? like others said for sure no sucking thru ANY straws. drink lots of water and rinse with warm salt water after every meal (soup, yogurt will be your meals) and rinse with warm salt water about 30 times a day seriously.
Stay on schedule with your antibiotics (usually pennicillen)
too.
The only over the counter pain killer that worked was Aleve.
Eat a bit before taking any medicine too.
Perkacet or Vicodin at nite for getting sleep.
I didnt have gas for the procedure, just locals. (ugh)
I had cavities in my lower too also, so my mouth is happy that they are gone thats for sure.
All in all its worth getting done, they are useless

I had all 4 surgically removed at 12. I had an upper molar taken out in 2002 because it craked after a root canal and last monday the one below it taken out because it was growing up out of the gum without the molar above it. It's still a little sore. I was on hydrocodone and penicillin.

I had the root canal done, but not the crown. My dental pays 100% for cleanings, fillings, and even the root canal, but 0% for the crown. I didn't want to pay the $1300 for the crown so I took my chances. It lasted 2 years and then cracked so I had it removed. It's a shame it now caused the lower one to have to come out as well. I like the dentist I use because he uses the cosmetic fillings that are tooth colored, not black.

I haven't seen anyone from too far south reply to this thread...I think because they don't show that many teeth to begin with...therefore no pain, no infections...

Sorry....it was so tempting...I love redneck humor....

Ditto , I had that done to a rear molar too.
root canal but didnt do the crown, but then the tooth
is starved of blood and it gets brittle and w/o a crown
its only a matter of time before its rendered uselss
Mine lasted a yr, in hindsite I should of stepped up and just
got the crown

Did you know the toothbrush was invented in Tennessee?

If it was invented in Pennsylvania, it would have been called a teethbrush.

This dude works for me

A few years ago he pulled his bottom front teeth and used the butt ends of 2 papermate pens jammed into his jaw as teeth. He wore them like that for about a week before taking them out. I am not making this up.

Thanks for the advice, I didn't know about the straw suck thing.

I wonder if sinus/pituitary surgery and tonsilectomy could be combined with wisdom teeth removal.
