Angry Shull Bit!!!!

So, there I was in my garage looking at my new Konig wheels, and the boxes they were in, when a mysterious marking caught my eye. In blue, on the side of the factory box, it read "18x8". Ufck That! I said. So, basically the guy sent me the wrong rims. I really wanna put them on, but i've been told that 8" width rubs. So, since I already bought tires, I don't quite know what to do. I kinda wanna try them out to see if they don't rub (since I don't think it's ever been attempted (probably for good reason)), but I wanna get the rims I ordered. Somebody help a brutha out!

Mat

well what you could always do is put them on , try them out and see if you like them. If not, just ask to return them, I can't imagine they're being a problem. Personally what I would do is ask the distributor of the wheels what options you have. Good luck, take some pics too!!!!!

I have those wheels on my SVX. The owner I bought it from put them on not knowing anything. I took it to the shop and they told me they were to wide, but they shaved some of the tire off so it doesn't rub anymore, and it works fine.

That sounds perfectly safe.

Mat, I would recommend that you exercise some patience, call whomever you bought the wheels from and get the right ones.

dont they make a spacer that you can put inbetween the rim and the roter, so it doesn't rub. That seams more logical to me than shaving your tire! However it may make the wheel stick out a bit, so may have that crazy dune look to it

It's usualy the outside of the tire that rubs. I've not seen anyone mention the inside rubbing. A spacer would just make it worse, not to mention putting more load on the wheel bearings.

wellllllll...since we're so into creative ideas on decorating randy's car...paint it with the bright phoenix yellow base...then we can glue an array of different colored felt patches on it ...
it'll be like a nice bright yellow, multi-colored felt piece, cow-esque conglomeration of all our creative minds to make randy's car the most beautiful svx on the planet...

i'm going to be shot, aren't i...
