That Really Bites!
After swapping my tranny from AT to MT in my Legacy to get it back on the road, it seems to be lacking about 30 or 40 hp. It feels like either the exhaust is partially clogged or timing is retarded. I'll let the photo tell you which.

The key turned about 80 degrees in the keyway. It looks like about 15 degrees of timing are pulled. It turned the keyway into the Grand Canyon. Fortunately, I've got a spare motor in the parts car from which I pulled the tranny. But now I get to pull the #$%#$% tranny for the fourth time in 2 weeks to get the motor in. I'd take a picture of what my hands look like by now, but it might be too scary for some.

Is the crank from an EJ18 a direct fit replacement for the EJ22E crank? I do have a spare EJ18, which is about as useful as a poopy-flavored lollipop.

Well, I drilled a 1/4" hole through the cog and put a spring pin in there just like the half shafts. With a new key and crank pulley, it should be good to go. I also swapped on some EJ18 heads to up the CR so it should be fun.
