Kind Of A Sick, Sad Party!!!

I just had a new set of tires (Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S 225/50s) installed so I'm in a good mood. Another item on the shopping list of stuff the car needs taken are of...
So I really didn't want to read this thread...afraid I'd find out about more extremely well known and expensive problems like the tranny, wheel bearings and engine leaks that I hadn't heard about yet. But I couldn't resist, like watching a train wreck.
Good Gawd ya'll, what a shopping list of woes!
I'm feeling very fortunate my list is relatively short...already done the 60,000 mi service, tranny and wheel bearings thing. And now new tires that will hopefully last longer than the 16,000 miles it took to wear out the Avon Tech M500s. Is this what I should expect from a 100,000 mile, 14 year old Japanese car? I've already spent more on this Subaru in 2.5 yrs that I spent on my '76 Lancia Scorpion in 14 yrs!

New pads-going with braided lines and Motul 600 when they're replaced
Timing belt, pulleys, water pump etc (120k service)
Repaint hood
Fix left rear quarter panel dent
Exhaust leaks. replace main cat (new Magnaflow cat I bought from a Net person that was supposed to be here WEEKS ago)
Front speakers
Struts and springs

Whew! That was painful...the new Pirellis feel great though, and it could be much worse.
Good luck and good night,
WGJ

Windshield has a massive crack on the drivers side (but far enough left that it doesnt affect vision)
Front left fender has a dent in it
Hail damage
Inner ashtrays (both front and back) are broken
Power steering leaking (slowly)
Odd RPM's while coming to a stop and when letting off the gas around 200 RPM's
Interior display lights (fog switch, cruise button, security button) dont light up
Drivers seat leather split
Droopy sunvisors
Need new Hood props
Center console buttong (to release the cover) is broken
Trunk release lever is missing
One rim on drivers side faces the wrong direction (long story)

Dang, my car is a POS!

the drivers side control for the passenger side window does not work

ummmm thats it.

when i think about it, my car is in absolute mint condition. paintwise 10/10, interior 9.95/10(only that because i scratched the dash under the cd player), body is 10/10, engine 10/10, its awesome, and should always stay that way

I knew my list was shorter than i expected, i forgot a few things! reading your lists made me remember all of her little issues that i've learned to ignore.

page 2:
-Check engine light has a mind of its own
-tranny doesnt always lock into park when its turned off so it can move if the parking brake isnt pulled
-Power window stitches are crappy and loose but only refuse to work when it suddenly starts to rain in heavy traffic
-Ugly wood grain trim is faded on one panel
-The slower side of the speedometer doesnt light up
-Only half of each light on the gear shift light (its hard to describe and even more difficult to figure out how to fix it)
-Idles higher and rougher than usual at certain stop lights
-rolls backwards on hills no matter what gear your in
-There is mold, dog hair, and Cheerios's under the rear seats stuck to the tar.
-Dog/cat hair on head liner from former owner's pet
-Key doesnt always open doors b/c its severely warn down
-Security System clicker doesnt work and batteries at 7.25 for it
-Seat belt used to stick in rear position but magically stopped doing so
-Rear seat cushion isnt mounted properly b/c i'm not strong enough to do it right and i had a heck of a tie getting it out the first time (i havent had a rear seat passenger since i bought it so no biggie)
-Scratches on front bumper that look like someone had sex in heels on the hood.
-spider cracks in lower front bumpers paint for bad previous owner
-Bad previous owner (2nd)
-1st owner got pregnant with 4th kid and sold it to 2nd owner (but at least she took good care of it when she had it)
-Current owners obsession drives family and friends nuts (i think that would be on all of our lists?)

to the PP without the felt things in the door: You want mine? I hate them, they fold up and get all weird. I was thinking of throwing them out, if you want them send me a PM and we'll set something up.

Oh ya, 2 of my wheels are on backwards from the last time she was in the shop, my key is bent on an angle, my feet get too hot even when no climate stuff is on, my fiancee poked a hole in the leather in the back of the passenger seat, I have leather wear on the driver's seat from people getting in and out for 14 years, hood struts are weak, floor mats (original stock grey ones!) are damaged and should be replaced, and I'm outta wiped fluid as I found out on the way home.

I'm really enjoying this thread. It shows what kind of stuff can be wrong with an SVX and still have someone smile everytime they think about it or see it.

Actually i am blessed with a very short list... sorry guys. lol

1. O2 that cant decide if wants to work or not.
2. Seat sensor doesnt work, so belt often wont close until timeout
3. missing trunk interior pieces. not that big of a problem.

Thats all that comes to mind.

Gawd I Hate When That Happens!

Got the whole dang field to sit in but NOOOO... ya gotta go and sit on my car and let the rats do general damage!

"cow sat on the passanger front fender,...and general rat damage"

Napa,
Where do you live? I can't remember the last time I saw a real cow and you had one SIT on your SVX?
Were you trying to tip the cow over?
There's an interesting story here Napa. So tell us,
WGJ

Part of the problem is people like to use the door as crutch when getting out so they lean all their weight onto it. :/

LOL - when we moved last Spring, I realised that we going to a rural area. Didn't appreciate the reality of living here until the summer when I had to close my windows in order to hear the TV set. Cows were moo-ing just outside in the field next to us.

Yep, I can picture a cow sitting on my SVX. Had a duck on my roof and a cat on the hood eyeing it just last week! From now on I swear I'm gonna keep fresh batteries in my camera.

OMG I can't possibly type all this.

Rust on both rear quarters behind the rear wheels
dents in both fenders
hood bent over pass. headlight with paint missing
numerous door dings
faded and chipped spoiler
power seat controls on there way out
pass. visor won't stay up and drivers sags
occasional CEL for O2 sensors that were changed just over a year ago
power steering leak
inner tie rods
numerous small oil leaks
engine knocks loudly when cold
ABS is funky due to air getting in the system at the ABS solenoid where 2 bolts or caps(one on each side of the ABS unit, one facing the rear, one the front) are leaking brake fluid all over.
probally due for rear struts
exhaust is leaky and LOUD
Damn finger cramps

1. Dont have the problems Mike has yet
2. Probably will have some hic ups once the stage II arrives
3. I WILL grenade the tranny and if I decide to treat the car nice I will probably sell the tranny (if it is in the same perfect shape as it is now, for dirt cheap to one of you =D )
4. SOMEONE (don't know who) in my condo complex has been door dinging the living hell out of my car. I have about 10 white door dings on my laguna(at least they match my white wheels lol) and if it weren't for the fact that I was going to paint it anyway, I would go around and paint match it to one of the cars here and have them fix it.
5. I don't have 6 piston front and 4 piston rear brakes. If someone would like to pm me with some info about said things feel free to do so...I know your out there =P
6. My rack and pinion unit is rusted so that the steering wheel is not straight...VERY annoying (thought it was the alignment but no such luck)
7. I guess some of you would look down on me for having no back seats and no carpet...me likey
8. I dont have a carbon fiber trunk/hood and if you have any update on the trunk PM me...you know who you are =P Also if anyone has leads on anyone on the west coast who could make me a cheap fiberglass trunk without the lip give me a pm because I might experiment with putting on a B4 blitzen spoiler (...yeah I know weird but I like them)
9. I sold my other SVX D=
10. I have a led foot and therefore don't get good gas mileage...I don't wanna know whats gonna happen with stage III >_>
11. Tom doesnt live in Nevada
12. NO ONE lives in Nevada.
