I love this gas gauge...

It quivers like a scared dog...and it makes it seem like I'm getting worse mileage than my old jeep. Does anyone know of any fixes or anything for this??? I had about 90 miles on the trip meter and the gas gauge had dropped to almost half full (3/7th's of the way from full)...I know the thing gets better mileage than that. It's just a nitpicky thing, b/c it's going to drive me slightly insane over time...but then again, I'd have to have a few nuts loose to buy a SVX. I do have to say though, it's the best damn decision I've made all my life

Significant Technical Input
We were having a discussion about this a week or so ago. I haven't been into the tank yet, but if Subaru is like most OEMs they have foam floats on the sending units. When we still had cars with carburetors the foam floats used in them would eventually start absorbing the fuel and getting heavy. This won't allow them to float as high as they should.

Now if you want to be the xxguinea pigxx, ahem, engineer and try to find a replacement material and install it in your car the rest of us would like to know how it went...
