I am starting to see a trend. It seems that the intellengent people went into the USAF and drive SVX's.

I think we need to make an exception for GreenMarineSVX. After all it wasn't his falt he got drunk and joined the wrong branch.

We need intellengent people on the ground to make sure that when we pushed the button it hit something important.

I saw a couple of SVXi on McGuire. Combat Arms was over by the Sims then we moved over next to AMX by the flight line. We move in OSI's old building in June.

I was in the Army, and then National Guard. Went in 1970 and Kent State happened while I was in Basic Training. MOS - 11B (infantry) While in the Guard, I was in an Engineer Company. Drove truck (2 1/2) along with other equipment and built bridges. When I got out, I was an E5 - Sargent. I would not trade that experience for anything, but am certainly glad that I am out of it even though it was years ago. I had a chance to qualify with almost every weapon that the Army had, and used many of them after that. My hearing is not what it used to be. What did you say?

Military

Was in USAF (as in: U Sure Are F---ed) from '58 to '62. Managed to spend whole time overseas...first in Azores, then Tripoli, Libya, then Japan. While in Azores & Libya, was flight engineer on SC-54 aircraft in Air Rescue Service. Flew all over Africa and Europe on Search & Rescue Missions, including looking for Gary Powers/U2, out of Adana, Turkey, the RB-47 out of Bodo, Norway and the lost WWII B-24 "Lady Be Good" in the Libyan Desert.

Around-base transportation in Tripoli was Ex-Afrika Korps Kubelwagen.

After Libya, etc., shipped over to Japan...based at Tachikawa
near Tokyo. Was in trans wing that flew C-124, C-130 and C-133
aircraft. Things were just starting to heat up in Nam at the time, and a couple of flights into DaNang to pick up full loads of caskets convinced me that I was lucky to be based in Japan.

Ground transportation in Japan was a new Honda 305 Super Hawk.

Despite the above definition of USAF, I enjoyed my time in the ranks...the experience overseas was priceless.

I've been rolling around the idea of joining the USAF/Air National Guard to work one of the support roles (I don't have the ability to kill) just for the experience. Maybe once I graduate college, so I can kill off my loans and have an awesome experience I wouldn't have been able to otherwise.

hehehe Believe it or not but if I had passed my Nuclear Examination test that I took for the Navy, then I would be wearing a diffrent uniform and would have been operating Nuclear Reactors... But I missed the cutoff score by about 6 points... So I got pissed off and joined the Marines

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.
