V-twin Subaru
Taking a break from my honey do list...
At the tool rental place today I saw a V-twin Subaru engine labeled Robin (coincidentally my Wife's name too). It was hooked up to a low end industrial generator for job site work I guess. Didn't know they were in that business. I have a Honda pressure washer and a Kawasaki lawn mower, now I think I need a Subaru tool of some sort, just gotta figure out what |

The Robin is also an optional engine on the BarFly racing barstool.

Yep, it's a current FHI product. The motor is not too different from what came stock in the Subaru 360 back in the late 1960s.

They are used mostly on commercial quality weedwackers and lawnmowers. I.E. they are very expensive. I couldn't justify spending $700 for a push mower for our 1/7 acre yard. I did try though.

They are kind of expensive tho - at least locally. I looked a bit more when returning the tools I rented (the place also sells tools, etc.) Seems they want $452 + tax for a single cyl, 6-hp motor, and $675 + tax for a single cyl 8.5-hp motor.
I didn't ask for the V-twin |

At that rate our 230HP six would go for a tad over $18K. Of course, isn't that what an upper crust Kubota goes for? Ron (Lawn care just costs mower & mower).
