http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...3741&printer=1

I'm telling you guys right now: Japan's obsession with huge robots will result in REAL LIFE gundam wing/transformer things in the future. Just wait.

Is that fake or real? It's pretty incredible, whatever it is. It seems too complex to be fake....

There is zero doubt in my mind that it's CG.

I think you are wrong Mr. Pockets. The arm dexterity test look very real to me. I've seen some weird stuff and this look real. Even if it does have a cable.

It looks real to me. The sheer amount of information on that page would be pretty incredible to 'fake'... along with detailed crap (and somewhat mundane crap) of the motion sensing, distressed car viewing, etc.

The wheels on the arms are spinning to provide energy to initiate the movement of the legs:

See... it's crap like this that makes me believe it might be real. I could be wrong, but.... this is one **** of a fake, if it is fake.

The guy's got a very vivid imagination, no doubt. But I drew things just as detailed in my notebooks when I was in high school.

Those clips are nothing more than CG composited over video.
